Canada’s Best Managed Companies is a national awards program, recognizing Canadian companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. Applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth. IWCD is extremely proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed, having retained our Platinum Club status in 2021.

These awards recognize a company’s business growth and how they are building a better community. Formerly known as the Sterling Awards, the awards are sponsored by the Nanaimo Economic Development Corporation. IWCD was the recipient of the 2016 Construction, Design, Architecture, Engineering Firm Award, and the Excellence in Business Award in 2014, presented to a company who has been in business 10 years or more.

These prestigious awards celebrate the best of Vancouver Island businesses and community leaders. The awards are held annually, and hosted by the Business Examiner. IWCD was the recipient in the Construction/Development Company of the Year category in 2012 and 2020.

The Commercial Building Awards (CBAs) established by the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) recognize outstanding workmanship and design in commercial buildings within the VIREB area (from the top of the Malahat to the northern tip of Vancouver Island). Each year, winners are selected by a panel of independent judges from various professional and development industries.
